Charles Poole (1950 - 2004)

Charles Poole established Quintech in 1991. At that time, information technology was the prerogative of big business only. Small and medium sized enterprises may have begun to use the odd PC instead of a type-writer and some may have been using spreadsheets and databases, but networks, the internet and e-mail were almost in the realm of science fiction.

Charles saw things slightly differently. He did not accept that SMEs should be excluded from the benefits large companies were gaining from Information Technology. Quintech began supplying hardware and software to local businesses and, importantly, provided a full support package. His vision was for Quintech to provide what he called a “one-stop shop” for his customers. It is a measure of the success of this vision that many of Quintech's original customers remain with the company to this day.

Charles' untimely death came at a point when Quintech was poised on the brink of rapid growth. Quintech's success is, and will continue to be, based on the application of the principles which Charles espoused.
