SAP Business One - Customising Data
SAP Business One is shipped with a number of tools to allow you to customise the information visable to end users.
Field Names - Choose your own definition for field names in the system, with a couple of clicks and the right authority you can choose what you call and use fields for.
Formatted Search - The value that is present in a field can be set by a query in the system, for example when entering a customers account code in a sales order, formatted search will look up their account balance and populate the information in another field. Another example would be inputting a post code in the customer account code field, formatted search would look up a matching account code for the post code and populate the account code field with the accout code.
User Defined Fields - Despite having a large number of data fields in SAP Business One (which can be used how you like - see Field Names above) there is the option of adding your own user definable fields, as an added benefit these fields can be included in existing forms e.g. Sales Order Entry for data entry and you can report on these fields as well.
Screen Layouts - you can define different views (even down to individual user level) of what data you need to see for data input. For example on a Purchase Order one user may want to see item description another user may only want product code - its up to you.
All of the above tools are tools for you to use - you do not need a programmer to change the system.
